Is it worth it to visit the St louis Zoo in the winter?
-
My family is planning a trip to St Louis in early Feb. for a different reason, but want to do something family friendly while there. Last year we did the Magic House and that was great, but how good is the St Louis Zoo in the winter? Are there a lot of inside activities? Is it worth it to go in February?

Answer:
Our family goes there all the time. The bears are outside and very active. Most of the other animals are in their houses so they are still on view for the public such as reptiles, primates, lions, birds, penguins etc. There is still the childrens zoo of which most is indoors so they can still enjoy the small pets plus the petting zoo is still open (the goats have their fur coats on). The living world is all indoor and has some wonderful exhibits. You do have some outside walking but unless its bitterly cold and windy its not bad. I'd also suggest that you go to the Science Center. They have an exhibit during this time of Sue a large dinosaur (or some type of prehistoric creature). They have lots of interactive things to do plus the Omnimax theater.

Well, I don't know much about the Zoo, but you should visit the Gateway arch. It's amazing look down from the top. I believe it's like 690ft. I don't really remember. But you go up in this capsule and there's a museum at the bottom. It's a grand time. :) Have fun.

I wouldn't go unless it was at least 40 and that's even a stretch. The St. Louis Art Museum, History Museum are both near the zoo and would be heated and nice. The City Museum would be fun The Science Center would be great World Bird Sanctuary could be fun

no, not really. it will be extremely cold, and there may not be many animals out. I would do it in the late summer.

1st of all the zoo is free and has a website that can give u details, i have lived hear my whole life and go all year round. So i say go also if you get there and dont find it to be any fun the St Louis Science Center is at the same location that the zoo is in and there are many other things close by to do in Forest Park. Have fun adn be careful not one person here knows how to drive, they all think they own the roads!
