Answer:
If you want fast food on Hampton there is an Imos, McDonalds, Jack in the Box, Steak and Shake etc. Dogtown is right across Oakland. At Tamm ave you will find Pats Bar and Grill which has the best fried chicken in town and further up Tamm you will find a nice coffee house, an Irish bar and restaurant and a Mexican restaurant. I actually like the restaurants at both the Art Museum and at the History Museum in Forest Park. They are a bit pricey but the food and service has always been good. Another option is the Boathouse.

If you know where Turtle Park is then you'll find this place. There's a Irish Pub/Bar across the street. Can't think of their name right now. Order the Fried Chicken. Their famous for it. Get written up in food articles and magazines all the time. You can basically see this place from the parking lot at the Zoo. I walk from the Zoo parking lot each year to the Dogtown St. Patties day parade.

Upscale: Atlas - Italian, French, and American cuisine. They also serve the best Cosmopolitan in all of St. Louis Pizza: Pi - My favorite spot in the entire city. The deep dish is EXCELLENT! Katie's Pizza - Another great source for pizza that's a little on the different side. A great choice for the whole family. American/Contemporary: Jimmy's on the Park - Great flash fried spinach, a delicious chicken/strawberry salad, a great fish quesadilla, and a fabulous turkey wrap.

have you considered packing a picnic lunch -there isn't a real big selection next to the zoo- so maybe picnic & then get a nice dinner on the way home ♦
