Hard to get LPN job in WA state?

• hi we're just hoping to move some where in Washington state... Not just Seattle. We are terrified that we may not find a job anywhere as a LPN there. My dad is a newly grad LPN but he does do spinal and he has worked for another big hospital for 10 years before becoming a LPN. He also is trying to be a RN within a year. He would like to be in the rush of a hospital again but for now he just works at the Veterans Affair's here. How hard is it to get a job as a LPN in WA? Is one area better than the other?   The Link you provided was quite interesting. Plugging in LPN returns a average salary of 41K - 12% lower than the national average. 41K does not go very far in the Pacific Northwest. I have worked in/for hospitals over the last 20+ years and I can tell you that hospitals have moved strongly away from hiring LPN's. Hospitals exclusively hire RN's. Period. I know this from hiring managers and HR people I work with.That's not to say you cannot get a job in healthcare with a LPN; it just would be at as a home heath aid, in a assisted living facility, etc... not in a hospital. If he is in a RN program, there is no way he should leave it. The RN programs out here are very competitive; having long wait lists. Get the RN first, then come out.
