How much would a skiing/snowboarding holiday be?

How much would a decent holiday holiday in seattle cost?

  • I live in NZ and im saving up to visit relatives in the States in my gap year. how much would a 3-4 week holiday in mostly seattle (possibly san Fransisco) cost? (tell me in USD and ill find a site where i can convert that into NZD, or if you know a good site for that please tell me)

  • Answer:

I think you would have to plan on at least $150 a day to cover room rent, food, travel, entertainment; MORE if you plan to go to SF as well. Of course, if you're staying with the relatives, you could reduce your costs greatly. In which case you might be able to get by on $50-60 a day. (I went to Australia and New Zealand a few years ago and lived on less than $10 a day by staying in youth hostels and spending less that $1 per "meal." I came home a little lighter, but still had a great time!) I'm not sure of the exact site for converting dollars, but you can find one if you type "currency coversion" or "dollar conversion" into google or other search engine.

It is a minimum $150 a night for hotel in either city, unless you go the hostel route ($40 a night or so) food can be $10 a day if youe at fast food, or way way more if you go high end. In seattle you could rent an apartment for a month at www.shorttermsuites.com and have a kitchen and its cheaper than a high end hotel
