What is the difference between ''Size" and "Size on Disk?

Wat is the difference between ''Size"n"Size on Disk"?

  • Answer:

Size is the size of the file. Size on disk is the amount of space on the disk that it takes to hold the file. This is different from the file size because space on the disk is allocated in blocks of a certain size. If the block size of your hard drive is 2k, That is the smallest amount of space used to hold a file. So if the size of the file is 1 byte, it will still take 2k on the disk. A file that is 3k will take two blocks, or 4k of space on the disk.
