Is Seattle a good place for a college student?
-
I'm going to be graduating soon and am looking for a change. I want to move out of state and go to college somewhere else, and Seattle is on my list of places I would possibly move to. The thing is, I'd be going alone and I have no connections over there. I don't have any family or anything so I wonder if it would be tough to adjust. In plus I'd be moving across the country and away from my family. I wouldn't stay there forever though, I just want to experience different things. Is Seattle a good place for a college student? Do you think I should consider it or not?

Answer:
Seattle is probably the BEST big college town in the United States! I can't imagine that you need to worry about "going alone" and having "no connections!" Tons of other people who come here to go to college are in the very same boat! You'd be in good company, believe me......which is why it will be easy to make those connections with others once you get here. There are an amazing number of college choices in Seattle. Of course, the University of Washington is the biggest and most prestigious. If you want to be kind of anonymous and totally unregimented, that's a good choice. Seattle University and Seattle Pacific University are other major colleges here. Each of those has some religious influence, though, so you need to keep that in mind in the event that you don't care to set aside spiritual time within the framework of your educational enirnonment. And for those who find that community colleges are what's right for them, there's North Seattle Community College, Seattle Central Community College, and South Seattle Community College. And in the nearby Seattle suburbs are Edmonds Community College, Shoreline Community College, and Bellevue Community College. Seattle is perhaps the most educated city in the US (it was recently determined to be "the smartest city" in a nationwide survey), partly as a result of all the educational opportunities here. You couldn't pick a better place to get your post-high school education.....and, by the way, Seattle is also one of the "most livable" cities in the country.

Seattle is awesome. Seriously, amazing. I'm moving to olympia next fall for school and I'm leaving everyone on the east coast to move there. I can't wait though!

seattle is great people are pretty nice and its not to big but not to small its not a hick town but people wont push you out of the way for no reason so its a nice place to be plus if you need friends or a roommate you can go on Craig's list but if you don't like weed don't move here lol seriously though if your a student there is weed every where in the university district its not to expensive and the weather is mild it never gets to hot or cold so i suggest you come up here for like a summer and see if you like it but i bet you will
