Should I go to college in Seattle or Chicago?

I really want to go to college in Seattle, but....?

  • I want to study Hotel Management. And the best place for that is at UNLV in Las Vegas. I don't really like the dry desert heat and tourist flooded area tho. And in my free times I go to sporting events. There are no sports teams in Las Vegas. I know you may be thinking, it doesn't matter what the surrounding city is like, but I don't think I could survive without sporting events in college. It's honestly like my life. ( I mean pro, not college). Seattle has the Mariners and Seahawks and has nice weather. Las Vegas doesn't. The only thing I can think of to go to Seattle is to attend Seattle University and major in business administration or something like that. Any advice please answer. Thanks.

Go where you will be happy. On another note University of Denver has one of the best if not the best Hotel Management major in the country ( I think they recently edged out Vegas, and have always been on the top anyway) Denver is beautiful and the weather is nice. 300 days of Sunshine, but we have very pronounced seasons. When its Spring, its spring dangit, when its Summer its Summer to the fullest etc. We get snow and we are close to International Ski resorts. On top of all that we have more professional sports teams than any other city (Football, Soccer, Lacrosse (two teams) Basketball Baseball, Hockey, Arena Football) We also have roller derby teams, UFC started here, we have several national marathons per year and the X games in aspen. So if you say you love sports we have em here!

If you consider rain 9 months out of the year nice weather, Seattle's fabulous. The traffic sucks too, especially on game day. On the other hand, if you like collegiate sports, you can't beat WSU on the other side of the state which has much nicer weather with 4 seasons and a school spirit that can't be beat. I believe they do have a hospitality major and a good one with international exchange opportunities. The college games are a huge deal around Pullman. It's a small town, so very few tourists, pretty much a college town and it's a quick hop by plane over to seattle if you really want to catch a pro game. Just my two cents and a little more information for you. Best of luck!

You can survive without pro sports teams, trust me. Just watch them on TV or go to college games, you're not going to have that much time to go to games in college anyway.
