Is it hard for a teen to get a job?

Hard to get a RETAIL job in Seattle with no experience? Is RETAIL enough $?

• I am in college here in va, so I will be a transfer student. (possible problem: because I won't have residency I may have to 'sit out' for a year) Will I have a hard time finding a job? I have not worked since like 2006 it was retail. I am lucky to be able to live with my parents and not really need a job but I'm at the point where I want to be independent (moving to the west from VA) and get a better life for myself.. that and my parents want me out. places here start to look the same. With that kind of background would it be hard for me to get a job? As I said I will just need income to 'survive' until my year is up, then I will be continuing my education. Would a typical retail chain store like GameStop, Kmart, JCPennies be enough to live here and will I have a good chance of getting hired at one without a degree? I would love to have my OWN apartment and for under $1000, I'm not sure if that is possible over there though. I would love to say I live in Seattle but honestly where ever I can get a job, and hopefully my own apartment I will stay there..

  It can be. Just apply for as many jobs as possible. It's a shitty economy. Boeing is hiring people off the street right now. You never know it certainly pays more than most places.
