What's some fun things to do in Seattle? On a low budget...?

  • I'm going to see Taylor Swift in concert in may in Seattle...and I was wondering what some fun affordable things I could do while in Seattle...I was thinking the EMP (experience music project) and maybe even a improve play or something...but other than that...I don't know what other things to do...Any suggestions? and please try to keep them cheap...I'm on a tight budget...as everyone is these days. :/ ALSO, if you could help me out with some fun places to eat! that would be awesome!!! THANK YOU!

Get a city pass! It costs somewhere around $75 It gets you admission to all the tourist spots, like the space needle, zoo, museum of flight, a harbor tour, etc. I am from Seattle and I get one every time I go home, Its cheaper then paying admission at each and every location.

Are you not from seattle? EMP isn't cheap by any means. But something that can be free is Pike Place Market. It's a very eclectic part of seattle with an extremely rich history. It's where the first Starbucks was established, you can watch the "World-famous" Pike Place Fishermen throw fish around (watch out for the monkey-fish!), take pictures on the bronze pig, there are a lot of vendors that you can buy things they've made or grown. It's a farmer's market that has been around for DECADES. It's my favorite part of Seattle. Also, not far from the market is the pier. Walking down the sidewalk, there are many quaint shops, like "ye olde curiosity shoppe", that are so fun to look through. You don't necessarily need to buy anything, but at least in the curiosity shoppe, there are a lot of fun exhibits that are interesting to inspect, like a mummified human. Also on the Pier, if you like fish and chips, Steamer's is amazing! Less than $10 per person for amazing cod or halibut fish and chips... nothing better than that! A few miles away is the seattle science center plaza. It's right next to the EMP and I went there whenever I had a field trip to seattle in grade school. It's like a small mall with a few tourist-y shops and the fudge factory, pizza, chinese food and even a candy store. I really could go on for hours about cheap things to do in seattle. :) Hope these suggestions helped!

There is the Seattle Center where the Space Needle and stuff is. You can go look at that. Also a fun thing that doesn't cost very much is riding a ferry. Go round trip, sit in the coffee shop and make a mini cruise out of it.
