Good place to live in Washington State?

    I love Edmonds. I'm 10 miles north of Seattle. It really has a small town feel and you can find at least a cheaper rent (less than $1000/ month) if you look. You will never find prettier scenery. Edmonds is right on Puget Sound with the Olympics right across the sound. To the east is the Cascades. Every way you look you see mountains. Then if you want the big city Seattle is right there. It is the most beautiful city you will ever find.

The rent prices may not be what you consider "low" anywhere in Western Washington depending on where you are coming from. The futher away from Seattle you get, the cheaper the rents, but it becomes more difficult to find a job or you face a long commute every day. I would agree with one of your other answerers - Edmonds is really nice and cheaper than Seattle.
