Where can i see fireworks on new years eve in san diego?

Celebrating New Years in San Francisco, to see fireworks?

  • My friends and I are planning to go to San Francisco to see fireworks for new years. Treasure Island looks like an ideal spot to stop by for the fireworks entertainment. When do fireworks start and how long do they last? Is Treasure Island open at night? Thanks

  • Answer:

Treasure Island would be a good choice if there is no fog. The Island has some residential areas so I would imagine that the island is open 24/7. The crowds will be much smaller than on the Embarcadero but it will be very cold so dress accordingly. The fireworks are scheduled for Midnight and probably won't last more than 30 minutes.

http://www.sfgov.org/site/port_page.asp?id=791 It all depends on Fog: if any, how much fog and where the fog is sitting. Last month. we went to over to TI and found no toilet facilities open for visitors since no one had made prior arrangements for the group we were told. Also, you can't duck into a building for shelter. So put some blankets in your car in case you are cold waiting for sundown & the fireworks to start. At one of the little park-like areas with a few picnic tables and view of SF, there was a sign that read: No Assembling, Alcohol, or Amplified Sound without permit. TI Development Authority (415) 274-0660. Call them. More info: http://sf.funcheap.com/san-francisco-fireworks-years-eve-2010/
