How many crimes against the earth?

So i was thinking of moving to san fransisco.. are there a lot of earth quakes there? crimes?

  • Answer:

I've lived here all my life. I was with a friend when she got her purse stolen. It was some little kid. He grabbed it and was gone in a flash. That's it for my experience with crime. I've felt a few earthquakes, but they're over within seconds. I've never suffered any damage or injury because of one which is probably true for most people. I was out of town during the Bay Bridge quake. A lot of people were affected by that one. But it was almost 20 years ago. Seriously, I never think about earthquakes until someone from out of the area asks about them. It's a wonderful city with a variety of neighborhoods. You'd be sure to find one that appeals to your likes.

California has a lot of earthquakes. As for crime, here's a link.

Go,it's the most beautiful city out west, once in a while you may feel a minor tremor but that's no big deal.I can tell you honestly I have walked everywhere in that city and never had a problem. I would caution you that SF welcomes the homeless and it can get annoying with them begging all the time. they are allowed to sleep basically wherever they feel like it. The positives are many though.one more thought,It's expensive to live there.

There are about 100 earthquakes a day in California; they're just too small to feel. We feel a couple a year; sometimes things fall off shelves.

I went to college there for years and still work all over the Bay. It is known for being laid back, beautiful, and mild weather, though lots of micro climates, meaning it changes from city to city sometimes. Yes, it can cost a pretty penny, but like any city, there are ways to deal with this from roommates to savvy apt. hunting. I'm into film and art, so it is a wonderful life for me...though soon I will be saying goodbye and moving to LA to pursue more work! As far as quakes, only the '89 Loma Prieta was of any significance for me, but I was many miles away and hardly affected. Since then, I only felt one, and it was light. All others were unnoticed for me, you know, like not my area, or not deep. In everyday life, as far as natural disaster, people I know hardly ever think about quakes. In Napa, we think about flooding, on rural areas, there's the fires, in SF, knowing of quakes is one thing, fearing them is not on the radar. I'd be more concerned with the drivers. Yes, somebody mentioned a gay population: it's a fact of life, as with anything, it's neither here nor there for me. There are so many interesting people, neighborhoods, cool things, I love the Bay. Like nature, oceans, nightlife, academics, biz, art, etc? Welcome to the Bay!
