Where are some good bars around LAX?

Pride in San Fran. Any good bars around?

• My friends and I are going on Saturday and we were wondering if anyone knows of any good (cheap) bars to hit up around the Union Square area. I don't want anything TOO crazy, just cool. A few months ago we went to Castro and hit up Badlands (we have one in Sac too) and a few other places but I'm really not sure how far our hotel is from Castro street. Does anyone know of any cool places to go to around Union Square? I'm a straightie so I don't want anything TOO crazy and the boy I'm going with is a little shy...hehe. Thanks for any help!

  No gay bars in the Union Square area a few in the tenderloin but if you don't want too crazy probably better to skip them. There are lots of other kinds of bars. My favorites: Lefty O'Douls a strange mixture of hoffbrau, sports bar and piano bar a favorite of locals and toursist alike. The Tunnel Top top of the stairs at the Stockton tunnel entrance. Swig on Geary at Jones hip bar with a cool vibe. Red Room in the Commodore Hotel on Sutter at Jones. Great cocktails in a room that is entirely RED! The Cellar on Sutter at Taylor. Kind of divey but madly popular. If you do want to visit some gay bars and don't want to do the castro walk up polk street after the pride festival and visit: Encore Encore gay friendly kareoke on California at Polk. Lush Lounge Polk at Suttera mixed bar The Cinch Polk at Clay a freindly neighborhood gay bar with a pool table and a deck. N'Touch Polk at Sacramento a favorite of the Asian community. And if you want to get real crazy Diva's on Post at Polk, the bar for transwomen and the people who love them. 4 floors dancing, shows and good drinks.
