What is the best place to go for single's weekend getaway?

Luxury on a budget: where is a nice and AFFORDABLE place to go for a weekend getaway?

  • It's my boyfriend's birthday and I want to take him somewhere nice. He spoils me and I want to return the favor but I don't have a lot of money. I was thinking about a spa package - massage and/or mud bath but having a hard time finding something in my price range that isn't already booked (first weekend in June). Anyone have any creative ideas for a romantic weekend on a budget?

    You did not state your budget. I am doing a Napa Valley weekend soon. I booked the Hilton in Santa Rosa for $50 a night on Priceline. It will be romantic enough, and leave money for a nice dinner. If you are not set on a particulr place I would use Priceline to get a good deal.

find a nice bed and breakfast that is just a little out of the way, where you can spoil him with massages from you. and general just giving him attention that he needs or likes

Try calling the Napa Valley Visitor Center or Sonoma Visitor Center. They'll be able to give you some good ideas

You didn't say where exactly, but if you don't mind the drive to so cal......the palm springs/palm desert area starts their "off-season" rates fater mem. day weekend-so your dates would apply. Try the spa casino resort in palm springs or the hilton on tahquitz in palm springs-or in palm desert try the marriott desert springs, the reneaissance esmeralda or the Hyatt Grand Champions. My fave-only based on the pool area & locale-is the esmeralda!
