Are there any risks flying to Kenya, Africa next month?

I'm flying to San Francisco next month and I need a good hotel to stay in for three nights.?

  • Do you know of any hotels in San Francisco thats next to the Ghirardelli Square. Also, I'd like to do food tours while visiting. Let me know of any food tours as well. Thanks in advance!

  • Answer:

The Argonat hotel is near Ghiraradelli Square. But personally I'd choose to stay near Union Square because it is more centrally located with lots more options for food, art, music, culture and transportation. Check out Joie de Vivre Hotels, they have hotels in all price ranges are are fun, and a good value. http://www.jdvhotels.com They also offer a cool service where they match you with a local who shares your interests and can give you a good overview of the city, where to go, what to see and good places to eat. http://www.goldengategreeter.com. The best food tour has to be wok wiz, a walking tour of chinatown with lunch included. http://www.wokwiz.com Enjoy!

You can look on Orbitz.com or hotel.com either of which can give you a map showing how close it is to Ghirardelli Square. Anywhere around there is close to restaurants and of course the chocolate!

Go to the Hyatt - Embarcadero - They have great views of the bridges - or another would be St Francis on Powell - the service cannot be beat - a short cab ride will get you anywhere to the are you are going..

Try www.tripadvisor.com, just type in where you want to go, they have hotels all over the World and they also have comment from people that have stayed in them to ensure you don't get a bad one. Have a great trip.

As ajtheactress stated above, the Argonaut is the closest hotel near Ghirardelli Square...only about 1.5 blocks away. The next closest one is probably the Holiday Inn on Columbus Ave. which is about 3 blocks away. Most hotels near the Fisherman's Wharf area are all pretty close and are in walking distance (Fisherman's Wharf is a total about 5-6 blocks long). Staying in the wharf area is ideal if you don't mind the crowds...for instance if the hotel does not cover parking, trying to find parking in the wharf area on a busy day is not fun. If you like a bit more relaxed and quiet atmosphere, try The Mark Hopkins or Fairmont atop the hill on Mason St and California St. Another option to consider is to stay somewhere in Downtown SF. Majority of bus lines and numerous cabs can be found for ease of transportation to almost everywhere in the city. There is lots of options for food also! Hope this helps!
