Is it safe to park car at Fruitvale bart station over night?

  • i will park on weekdays monday to friday. I live in daly city near bart station. and my office is couple of miles from fruitvale bart station. i am thinking of parking car in the Fruitvale bart and then drive to work and leave car at Fruitvale bart in the evening and take bart to daly city where I live. my main concern is if its safe to leave car over night in the Fruitvale bart station and how much safe parking cost?

I wouldn't do that. You might not get your car broken into every night, but it will happen some nights. In the long run it would be cheaper to drive from DC in the long run. Or if you go off-peak hours on Bart you can take a bike with you. Some Bart stations have the bike lockers you can rent over night as well. Not sure if Fruitvale does or not.

Lake Merrit BART garage is much safer, but you have to pay $0.25/day from 4am to 3pm. If your car is not a new car, you may park in fruitvale.

I dont think you can park overnight at a BART station for free. It is one of the worst places at any time, so don't do it.
