What's San Francisco like?

Holiday in San Francisco, whats the best places to visit, I would also like to see Great White Sharks?

  • I'm 21, going to San Francisco on holiday with my girlfriend this june coming. We are both British, my girlfriend is in love with California which is why we are going, I chose San Francisco as it seems more walkable than Los Angeles and I really want to see Great White Sharks which like Northern Californian waters better I hear :)

    There are islands about 1/2 an hour out in the ocean, that take tours, and they have sharks feeding there. The Ferallon Islands, but beware, it is the most popular shark area in the bay, so there are quite a few. You can see sharks jumping, and whales breaching and it is amazing. http://www.greatwhiteadventures.com/farallon_details.html There is a link to one company that will take you. In san francisco, i would recommend going to Union Square, Golden Gate Park, Chinatown, Alcatraz, take a Cable Car, and Fishermans Wharf/Pier 39. Hope this is helpful.

Coit Tower, Pier 39 and its neighbors, Ghirardelli Square, the cable cars, Alcatraz, Union Square Sharks? I think they are a hockey team in San Jose - all kidding aside, don't spend a lot of time looking for them around SF

Farralon Islands.

San Francisco is a fabulous place. Visit Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, Pacific Heights, City Hall, Union Square, take a ride on the cable cars. Also great is Fishermans Wharf. Don't think you will find any Great White's but there are lots of Sea Lions basking on the docks. Have a good time.
