Where can i get California guard card in San Francisco?

Should I get a Clipper Card before visiting San Francisco?

• I will be visiting San Francisco for the first time at the end of February. I wont have a rental car, and I want to see/do the typical San Fran tourist places (i.e. Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf, the winding stretch of Lombard, Golden Gate Park, go across the Golden Gate Bridge, ride a cable car). I was wondering if I should get a Clipper Card so I wont have to worry about finding exact change, or getting new disposable cards all the time, or waste money on a card that I don't completely use up. I will be staying at either a Holiday Inn or Intercontinental Hotel within S.F. (have a free stay via points), so if any natives have any advice on the Clipper, or a best suited hotel, it would be much appreciated.

  Smart choice to forgo the rental car, you won't miss it as all the places you want to go you can get to by public transport. You can purchase a three day or weekly pass that is good on all Muni conveyances instead of a clipper car. You can find info on the muni site as to cost and where to buy. http://www.sfmuni.org The Intercontinental is right downtown near Union Square and would be a good central location. Holiday Inn has one location on Van Ness at California and one at the wharf. Do not choose to stay near the wharf, no way reflective of SF and most places close down early.
