What are the summer jobs in San Francisco that's easy for the youth?
-
I'm thinking about getting a Summer job in San Francisco this year for my Senior year. I just turned 17, with no California I.D.. I don't think I will be able to get in M.Y.E.E.P. because they're most likely not accepting people who are 17 or older. I don't really need to find a Summer Job Program such as M.Y.E.E.P. to help me get a job... I can have many types of skills. It will be great if I work in Safeway, Starbucks, Subway, etc.. (except fast food restaurants).. So what are the summer jobs for students under 18 this year? Applications to fill out right now or later before it's due?

Answer:
If you're interested in being a summer camp counselor, they accept LIT's & CIT's at Camp Jones Gulch under 18. It's best to call them and find out what best suits you. I went to Jones Gulch as a kid for 6 years and i loved it. The counselors were always awesome, and it looked like they had the most fun. http://www.ymcasf.org/campjonesgulch/

myeep is lame. they only accept low income, poverty, low grades, pregnant/teen parent, learning disability kids, in my extremely biased opinion. I have applied for it back to back for like three years and my friend too, and we're just average good grade kids, but we've always been rejected. I know this girl that's dumb as a rock, nothing on her resume, bad grades (no lie. She really is. I have to repeat everything 3x for her to understand) and she's been getting paid jobs by them every.single.year. for the past 4 yrs. IMHO, myeep sucks balls. But heyhey i'm 17 too and can't find a job, except in fast food. I know In-n-out in Millbrae is always hiring though, starting wage at 9-something dollars, not bad? idk. Better than jack in the box or mcdonalds. It's always better to go to the actual store and ask for an actual application, or if its coporately owned like Metreon, you can fill out an app online. (not sure if thats 18+ or 16+ though..) hahah. I'm no help. Good luck though!

I hear MYEEP only accepts low income students. Not sure where you stand as in income status but you might not qualify for it. Anyways its harder to find jobs that are 16 and younger. But just walk in and ask for a application. Talk to a manager. Ask questions. Dont be picky and choosy about your FIRST job. (I was refering to your comment to fast food restaurants) beggers cant be choosers right? If it was my first job, I would work at McDonalds. Better than nothing right? So dont be choosy now. Take what you can get and work your way up.
