Where can I get a Clipper card near the ferry terminal in San Francisco?

  • I'm going to be coming into San Francisco at the Ferry terminal, and need to get a Clipper card for public transit. What's the nearest place I can go to get one? I know there's a map here (http://www.clippercard.com/ClipperWeb/map.do;jsessionid=XS8MsenkD3GnoawjJsapRA**#) but I don't know which places provide actually Clipper cards, and which ones merely let you put money on them. Would appreciate whatever help I can get with this.

    You can still use cash to pay for a Bart card or muni fare. Clipper cards can be purchased at almost any Walgreens store. There is one just a block from the Ferry Terminal on Drumm Street. Exit the ferry terminal walk across the Embarcadero and one block west to Drumm turn right you will see the Walgreens. You may also be able to purchase them in the ferry terminal or at the Embarcadero Bart station.

The ticket machines in Muni stations will sell you a Clipper card, and the Embarcadero station is only a block from the Ferry Terminal. Of if you have time, order one from their web site and they'll mail it to you. That's what I did.
