What is there to do for the 4th of July in San Francisco?

Can you see 4th of July Fireworks from Potrero Hill, San Francisco?

  • We just moved to a beautiful house at the top of Vermont Street on Potrero Hill in San Francisco. We watched the fireworks last month over ATT&T park and it was spectacular. So... 4th of July is coming up and the fireworks will be launched from Pier 39 (directly across the city from us) instead of AT&T Park. Will the fireworks be visable from our house (assuming it is not too foggy). It appears as though downtown buildings (near Union Square) are right in the way, but I am hoping that the fireworks will be visable above the buildings. Should we have a party here or go somewhere else to view the fireworks? Thanks, SeansBrewing

  • Answer:

You will see the ones that are launched higher. However, if past seasons are any indication, it'll be so foggy that no one will see them except those directly on site.
