I've never been to California the only places I've ever lived at on the west coast were Seattle Washington and Hawaii and I currently live in Florida I want to take a trip to California and I don't know which city to visit I want to go to a large city but definitely nothing as big as LA which is why I think San Francisco would be a cool place to visit and I'm 21 I do like to party but I also like to enjoy other attractions as well so what is there to do in San Francisco besides clubs and I'm not gay btw lol just throwing that out there cause it seems like that's what alot of people first think about when they think of San Francisco.

Now, I love Los Angeles. But it is not an easy place to grasp or travel in. Most folks simply give up and head for the safety of Disney and Universal. Which is not a great way to spend a vacation if you are from Florida. Tourists tend to have a better time in San Francisco for the very simple reason that it is far less stressful. This is immediately clear on arrival. LAX is an overcrowded, disorganized mess. Whereas at well designed SFO, it is usually airy and quiet. San Francisco has good, unpretentious nightlife. It is more in the tradition of New Orleans than, say, Las Vegas. You will almost certainly spend more time drinking than standing in line. In terms of live music, San Francisco is a major player in the jazz, punk rock, and hip-hop circuit. Although acts are by no means limited to those three genres. Entertainment listings: http://www.sfstation.com/ http://www.sfweekly.com/ http://www.sfbg.com/ San Francisco is the oldest major city on the West Coast. There are a ton of museums, tours, and attractions. Part of the charm though is simply wandering around and seeing the architectural layers piling on top of each other (often haphazardly). It is also a great city for people watching. Specific places you might want to visit include: - Alcatraz Prison - Angel Island Immigration Station - Muir Woods National Monument - The Golden Gate Bridge (including Fort Point) - Golden Gate Park (including the California Academy of Sciences and De Young Museum) - SFMOMA - Asian Art Museum - The Palace of the Legion of Honor - The Palace of Fine Arts - Coit Tower - Twin Peaks

San Francisco basically is a huge city with a variety of people, and many things to do. It's VERY fun. You never go a day without seeing something either hilarious, or interesting. The top things to do are: 1. Go to Alcatraz- Great Experience. 2. Golden Gate Bridge- You can't really come here without going to the Golden Gate Bridge. 3. See a Giant's Game- World Series Champs!!! How can you miss it! They sell out fast so I recommend getting tickets from stubhub.com. The park is beautiful too. 4. Go to Chinatown- It's crowded, so just be aware, but so much fun. 5. Pier 39 and Ghiradelli Square-- Both are two of my favorite places in San Francisco. 6. Zoo? 7. Little Italy= Where to go for fantastic restaurants. 8. San Francisco Hop on Hop off tour... great way to see the city! 9. San Francisco Duck tour- takes you throughout the city, and then into the bay- about 2 hours! 10. Exploratorium! 11. Golden Gate Park 12. Fisherman's Warf 13. Union Square- The heart of San Francisco! There are many more things to do- these are just the popular ones that I could think of off the top of my head! Hope this helps!

San Francisco georgraphically is like Seattle with the bay but much smaller, the city and the bay. The weather is much milder. If there is any fog it is early in the a.m. or tops of the hills. The water is still very cold and if you surf you need a wetsuit all year. Surfing is south of S.F. I am not your age so I can't say anything that would interest you. There is no similarity to Hawaii.
