Is ocean beach bonfires in San Francsico still allow?

Hey, i live in san francisco, california. i would like to ask is ocean beach bonfires still allow. because in the summer the national park service tried to ban bonfires but they say they have to wait months for it to officially start. my friends went ocean beach last week but said there still plenty of bonfires. but my other friends said it's illegal now to bonfires... so i dont know...

Despite rumors to the contrary, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) is still attempting to enforce a partial bonfire ban, restricting fires to the area of the beach facing Golden Gate Park (Fulton to Lincoln). It's very fuzzy. The proposed full ban is still pending.
