Answer:
A good way to check out restaurants is either via the Zagat guide or on Opentable.com - they have solid reviews and you can make reservations online. Cliff House is definitely a place to go - the view is fantastic and the food is quite good as well. Don't go to SF for the steaks - there are some good places, but it's the seafood and ethnic cuisines that are the stars here. Lots of artisan cheese places just north of San Francisco in Marin County. Weather - assume around 60 F to be the average. Shirt sleeves during the day but a jacket/sweater at night due to strong damp winds. Dress in layers - if the sun comes out and there's no wind it will feel much warmer. Hope you have a wonderful time!

Romantic Dinner: Grand Cafe' (Union Square) Japanese food: Go to Japan Town Seafood: Aqua (Union Square) Drinks: Cliff House (Ocean Beach) fabulous ocean views. The warf is very touristy and not worth the $, in my opinion Steak: The Rose Pistola Desserts/Cheeses Any of the above places (except Japan town) Weather: Nov in San Francisco can be just about anything but hot. I'm born and raised in the Bay Area and it can be raining, chilly, sunny but cold - no telling. But who cares? San Francisco is simply beautiful any time of year. Have a great time and enjoy the sights and meals! :)

I love Asia de Cuba - it's really hip, great food and desserts, bar scene. The Cheesecake Factory in Macy's is also good. These are both in Union Square. McCormick & Kuletos in the Wisherman's Wharf/Ghirardelli Square area has good steak and seafood. I think they also have brunch. Try opentable.com.
