How to do a Jazz Square?

Name of jazz band that plays Union Square (San Fran)?

• I was in S.F last week and rode by the corner of Powell Street and Geary Street while a great three person jazz band was playing (drums, horn, guitar). The little snippet of music I heard from them was fantastic; unfortunately, I can't remember the name they had displayed on their sign. Anyone know? Would love to look up their music online. All the band members were african american.
