Where is the cheapest area to live in the San Diego area?

Where is the cheapest, non-ghetto area to live on the coast of California in or between LA & San Diego?

  • In SD, LA or surrounding areas etc.

  • Answer:

LOL it's not Santa Monica that's for sure unless you are homeless. The homeless seem to do very well there. Since the minimum wage is $12 or so there living is very high even for the L.A. area. Look at Leucadia or Oceanside. Here is a link for good info about any neighborhood in San Diego county http://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/neighborhoods/leucadia/

Erik and Chas have it. No real cheap coastal areas left. But those will be your best 'bargain'

Maybe Oceanside or Imperial Beach. Depends how you define "Ghetto".

Santa Monica, Oceanside, Imperial Beach, Ocean Beach.

Oceanside is the cheapest place of decent population. It is very close to a military base so be forewarned that you will be surrounded by Marines who can get pretty rowdy.
