Weird and fun things to do in San Diego?
-
My friend's birthday is tomorrow and we love weird stuff. We recently stopped by Watts Towers a couple of weeks ago and that was really fun. My mum has a copy of Weird California, but she can't find it and so I can't really look through that for ideas. I'm trying to plan out a fun day for four people (my friend, her boyfriend, another mutual friend, and myself). The birthday girl is turning 21, but as not everyone is 21 yet, we're looking for something that doesn't center around a night of bars. However, everyone is over 18. So, for anyone who's ever been to San Diego and done some cool/unusual things of the legal variety, or lived there, what's the best way to spend an afternoon/evening in the area? We're thinking about Old Town because although I've been there, no one else in our group has, and we like (supposedly) haunted places/tours. Also, we'll be driving there from Anaheim (right by Disneyland), so we'd definitely consider anything along the way (like if there's a random thing/cool stop that we could make a part of our trip.) Also, we're trying to keep this inexpensive, so I'd appreciate it if suggestions were made with that in mind. Ideally free or cheap things. Thanks!
