Starving College Senior looking for a job in San Diego,Ca....HELP!?

  • Summer is almost over and still no job. I was hoping if anyone in San Diego, CA could probably give me some pointers as to where to apply, where they are hiring, or just some advice. Right now ANYTHING will be appretiated. Thank you so much! I stay near SDSU, and have a car, so transportation will not be a problem. Thank again. =)

    Assuming you are open minded to all type of jobs. I am a 20 year old female who lives in Orange County. I work for ALLIED BARTON security services at an upscale apartment complex in Newport Beach and pay rate is $12/hr. It's hard to even make $9 or above nowadays. Security is not my thing, but it sure does help while going to school. I would say you should apply at your local Allied Barton office!!!!

There's jobs in your school. Work at the convenient store or the cafeteria. If you don;t want to be caught dead working like that at your school, there's probably a lot of jobs at golf courses nearby. I play golf and there's always a lot of college-aged kids working there in the summer and winter as people just cleaning clubs or selling snacks on the snack cart. You get so much tip if you do this, especially if you work at fancy golf courses where the rich people go. They tip you about $5 when you wipe dirt off their clubs with a washcloth and you do this for about 50 people a day. if you think about it, that's just $250 by tip. If you want to work during the school year, just go to some supermarkets, work shifts at a restaurant, or pretty much anywhere where they could hire students. Good luck!

The suggestion about a security job is a very good one. Both my sons and my daughter in law all got their first jobs that way. You should also look into nursing home aid or personal care assistant. Both of those fields are sorely in need of help.
