Is there job placement assistance for sex offenders in san diego ca?

Attending job corp in san diego, CA?

  • I want to attend to job corp out-of-state in either florida, texas, or california. The only job corp in CA I would even think of attending is in San Diego. What I want to know is how safe is san diego? What's the weather like? What about earthquakes? Keep in mind i've never been and won't know anybody. I'm just looking for a change, somewhere I can really grow and make money. If you live there or just know of san diego in generral please let me know everything. Thank you.

  • Answer:

The job corp office in San Diego is in Imperial Beach. It's not the best part of town, but not the worst either. I'd live north of Imperial Beach if I had a choice. San Diego is safe in general. It's like any other large city. There are good areas and bad areas. As a rule of thumb live north of I-8, west of I-805. Zip codes 92109, 92117 and 92111 are in these areas. The weather is probably the best in the country. It seldom rains. Doesn't snow. Winter highs can reach 80 F but mainly stay around 64F. Winter lows seldomly drop below freezing at night. Summer highs hang around 80F. Summer lows 65-70. No tornados. No hurricanes. Earthquakes get your attention, but so far the city hasn't been leveled. When a quake first starts you think you are getting a dizzy spell. When the water jumps out of your fish tank then you know that your OK. Everthing in general? There's a lot to tell. One thing to keep in mind is that San Diego is quite expensive. A one bedroom apartment in an average neighborhood is about $1000-$1200 per month. Car insurance is high because of the proximity to the border. San Diego has a high stolen vehicle rate. San Diego, like all of California, has gas prices much higher than the national average. Public transit needs a lot of improvements. Job Corp Office (google or mapquest to get a better feel) 619) 429-8500 1325 Iris Ave Imperial Beach, CA 91932

Job Corp San Diego is in Imperial beach. Its actually a GREAT little beach town and you can walk to the beach from Job Corp. The town is safe but of course you just must be cautious at night (as in most cities). The weather is so nice and you see a lot of people riding their beach cruisers around. Job Corp offers free local transpo and go on field trips to the beach although you can go yourself after the day is done at 4pm. Its located on government property, the Navy is right next door so I think id feel safe about that. I just went to a graduation there. They really do help you out with job placement, etc. If i had no other choice id definitly go there. Its unusual where its at, kinda inside a housing tract but also next door like I already said, to a Navy station "thingee". If you are looking for a chill town with great weather then go there. Do NOT worry about earthquakes. They happen so very rarely and when they do, a lot of times no one even felt them. Just thought a plane was going by or soomething (the rumble). I have slept through most. Your not gonna falll into a crater in the earth. If i were to move to the central United States id probably be just as freaked about tornados. We fear what we dont know. Anyway, do a google image search for SD job corp , maybe there are pictures on there. I did notice that the kids get really close to their advisors and counselors, they become like a little family. I have seen the dorms. You get a HUGE wardrobe closet thing with a pad lock. People bring those mini TV's/dvd players and before Mervyns closed , they would get a clothing allowance to go spend at mervyns (gift cards). I dont know where they go now. Lots of places for you to get a part time job too...drugstores, fast food resturants, etc. Takes about 3 weeks to settle in so give it a chance.

sunny side up
