How much money would you need in San Diego for six weeks?

Hi! i'm an italian girl..in june i'm going to attend a cours of six weeks with EF in San Diego California

  • the course will take place at the ALLIANT INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY..is there anybody that study in that university? i'd like to know how the campus is..and how San Diego is.. thank u!! i'm sorry if there are mistakes :-)

  • Answer:

You will love San Diego and it's beaches, the famous zoo and Balboa Park, and many other attractions. The University you are attending has a nice campus in a good area, but it is about 10 to 15 kilometers from the city center and the public transportation is very poor (It is poor all over San Diego). It is possible to take a bus to the beaches and zoo, but you will waste a lot of time and spend a lot of effort trying to get around. If there is any way you can rent a car (perhaps sharing with some friends), it will be so much easier as San Diego is best enjoyed if not limited by public transport. San Diego can be wonderful in the summer for a college student. You really must spend some time at the beaches, especially places like Pacific Beach (Belmont Park area), La Jolla Cove, etc. If you want more details, just ask more questions here and we'll try to help you make sure you have a good summer.

San Diegans may know this better as USIU, the old name for this school. Its a very pleasant place, quiet, secure and clean and set within eucalyptus tree groves. It is probably a good place to focus on your studies. It is unfortunately in a suburban location some distance from the most interesting parts of San Diego for after-hours interests, you should make friends quickly with somebody who has a car here, it is farther than bicycle distance from anything also. San Diego is a big city of 1million+ people, cleaner and safer than most in the US. Almost anything or type of environment is possible here. San Diego's surrounding areas have the most variety of environments of anywhere in the country. Pine forest, stark desert, beaches, rock mountains, Mexico, Indian reservations, the second richest neighborhood in the US are all a short drive away.

I have not heard of the university, sorry. But you asked about San Diego, and San Diego is a beautiful city/area! You will love it. The weather is lovely...well, right now it's raining, but normally it is lovely! Haha. The people are great, they are fairly laid back. I expect you will have a very good experience here. :-)
