Relocating To San Diego - Need info on JOBS?
-
Help...I'm making a huge life change and relocating to San Diego. I am interested in the work force there. I am currently a System Analyst for a Hospital in the state where I work and have previous experience in customer service, training, health insurance - you name I've got a lot! I'm just wondering if someone can recommend some good job sites - besides Monster and Yahoo. Also - if you have any information on what it's like in SD - that would also be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Answer:
San Diego is an INCREDIBLE place to live. I was born there and just moved to TX 3 yrs ago. I don't like it as much here, but I couldn't buy my own house in SD. The weather is amazing. The people are fast paced, a lot are not too friendly (I became friendly when I moved here ;) There is never a dull moment there, so much to see, and do. I was always out and having a good time. The job market is pretty competitive but if you have experience and a degree, you can go far. Just be sure to act like you know what you're doing at all times, otherwise you can get "eaten" by the big "fish" lol Don't forget to enjoy nature and the ocean, mountains... I miss them terribly! :(

I have personally gotten jobs in SD through both Monster and Craigslist. If you are specifically working with hospitals, you should check out the local hospitals directly. There are several in town, a google search should pull them up. Does your current hospital have any connections out here? Referrals are always the best way to get interviews. Also, if you see a job you like on Monster that is posted by a staffing agency, contact that agency directly as they may have more positions that are similar. Good luck.

I would suggest that you check out the jobs at http://www.jobing.com. In addition to the jobs posted on their site, it's an easy site to learn more about companies with jobs. They also host a great job fair every 3 months or so. Another possibility is this employment agency: http://www.appleone.com/ San Diego is a large city, but it doesn't seem quite so large because it is spread out into different unique communities. It's clean and safe. It's known for its mild year round weather and there are so many things to do in San Diego. For info on things to do visit http://www.sandiego-romantics.com Good luck on your move!
