  • Answer:

Acting and modeling are completely differnt Modeling is ONLY concerned with your looks - your skin, your facial features, your body type. For print work you need to be incredibly photogenic, beautiful, have perfect skin and a perfect smile. Most big agencies book commercial as well as fashion work. You do not need a portfolio before you get an agent - you just need a good headshot and a full body shot in fitted clothing - a friend or family member can take this with any digital camera For acting, you cannot get an agent until you have AT LEAST 2-3 years actual acting experience and training. That means starring roles in school plays, community theater, youth theater companies, and training in acting camp, acting classes, drama club, etc. No agent takes on actors with no experience and training. If you are not talented enough to get the starring role in an amateur school play or community theater production then you would never be talented enough to be cast in a professional film or television show or commercial. Since you are 14 you should start now - go to acting camp this summer if it's not too late. Then when school starts join drama club and audition for EVERY school play. And look into community theaters - there are a lot in SD http://theatrlink.itgo.com/theatres.htm and check their websites for upcoming auditions All legitimate agents are found on the SAG and/or AFTRA websites http://www.aftra.org/sd_agents.htm http://www.sag.org/content/find-agent - choose San Diego from the pulldown menu at the bottom
