Concan/Garner TX Cabins on water?

Does anyone have any suggestions for nice clean cabins in the Concan / Garner TX area that are on the water. We want to take a family vacation to the area but we would like to find a cabin very close to the water for the kids. I stayed in some places forever ago that were close to shallow rock bottom areas that would be perfect for kids to play. Just can't remember where it was? Thanks for any help.

First, one of the previous answerers suggested Garner State Park. Good suggestion, but if you want to stay there, BOOK NOW. This is the most popular park in the state, and cabins book out a year in advance. Also, visit http://www.friocanyonchamber.com/lodging.htm for other ideas of where to stay. Be aware that the rivers are low. We're in extreme drought conditions in this part of Texas. We were at Garner in September, and the Frio was really low. Still fun, though. Have a great trip!

there is a small camp area just before you get to leakey called Yeargens River Bend.... They have lots of campsites, a few shelters and also some nice little cabins, with beds, bathrooms and kitchens

That might be tough to find..Check out www.garnerstatepark.com for better info and a map of all cabins within the park. I believe most cabins are within in decent walking distance to the river. good luck!
