What are the public schools in Portland?

What High schools should I be looking at around the portland area?

  • I am moving up to the portland area this summer, and I would like to know which high schools are the best in the area and best for me. The main classes I would like to take are Japanese and some sort of swim class. Mainly I would love a Japanese Class since I have had a few years of japanese already. I was looking into the Beaverton and Tigard High Schools, but I really want to pick a good one. So if anyone has any info at all if these schools are good, or would like to recommend another school, all help would be gladly apperciated! Thanks!

  • Answer:

The Beaverton and Tigard High Schools are not apart of the Portland Public School District, they are located in the suburbs out of Portland. None of the Portland Public High Schools offer swimming as a class, but Wilson has a pool. The only high school that offers Japanese is Grant High School. You check out what classes all the Portland Public High School's offer by going to this site: http://inside.pps.k12.or.us/depts-c/otl/syllabus/?year=2008-09&school=&course=&teacher=&sort=Course+Number&search=Find+Syllabus PS I can't remember if it was the Beaverton or Tigard school district that had such a small budget that this coming school year, there will be school only 4 days a week. Since they are taking away a day, they will either be extending the school a couple weeks or make the school days longer.
