What are the public schools in Portland?

What are the high schools like in Portland, Maine?

  • I live in San Antonio, Texas. It's hot, dangerous, and polluted here. I'll be moving to maine in about two years and I don't want to be taken by surprise. So if somebody could let me know a few of the following.. -Are ALL of the schools small? -On a scale of 1-10, how ghetto is the poorer side of portland [[[1=Amish and 10=New York]]] -Do you frequently cancel school due to snowdays -Are the classes large (20-30 students per class) -Is there alot of violence and problems with drugs in schools >I know Texas to Maine is drastic, but I have no control If you could shine some light on any of these, I'd be incredulously greatful

  • Answer:

well i live in portland and can help you a little... ...the schools IN portland are not small --portland is actually a decent sized small city with 200,000 people in the vicinity (70,000 within the city)... ..i dont understand the ghetto part question, especially how 1= amish and 10= new york..ny is one of the richest places in the country so its not that ghetto--I'm actually offended by this remark seeing as i grew up in NY ...you get about 3 snowdays a year, give or take ..no there isnt alot of violence but everywhere has drugs in schools--the question is how hard are those drugs--a little pot never killed anyone ...texas to maine may seem drastic but i think in a good way--put it this way, I would choose maine to live in anyday over texas ..hope i helped
