How to get a wireless internet account?

How can I get a guest account at PCC so I can use the internet?

• I'm looking to obtain a guest account at Portland Community College so I can use the internet. I work as a web developer and live in NE Portland and I would like a warm spot to do work that isn't my house or a loud coffee shop. I guess if any of the local college libraries have open networks that would be great. College libraries are open late, coffee shops are not. Public libraries don't allow you to use a power outlet. If anyone has another idea I'm all ears.

  All the universities and major colleges in the area have wi-fi locked down requiring user credentials. Short of being a student and paying the fees—or being faculty—I don't think there is any way to get access. Consider enrolling in a class of interest. That is probably less expensive than renting/leasing office space for your business. They have pretty good—and free—wi-fi, comfortable waiting/seating areas, especially just outside the security zones, and power outlets. Some hours it is pretty noisy, but in the evening and most of the night it is fairly quiet—except for floor cleaning operations and the occasional beep of a metal detector.
