Is Portland a good place to live?

  • I am probibly moving to Cicago. but i am making sure that is where i want to live. i want to live in a safe cheap neighborhood. and i am a basketball player and there has to be a court or gym near by, or a leauge i can join. I dont want to live in a suburb. so is Portland right for me.

    I agree with Kevin... Portland is a lot safer in contrast to other major cities and very active. We have a number of gyms and recreation centres that offer community leagues you can join; there are a lot of parks too, that have basketball courts. I'd like to mention that we do have the Nike Employee Store too, haha. If you work at Nike - or even have a friend who does and can give you a pass - you can hit up the Nike Employee Store and get a huge discount on a bunch of Nike products, haha.

Portland is a great city. Its a big city, but small if that makes sense. I like that about Portland. It has everything the big city has to offer, but a much more intimate atmosphere. Portland is a safe place to live as well. There is plenty of basketball here. There is a lot of talent that comes out of the area. There are gyms, and leagues you can join. Also Nike is here and they have built tons of outdoor courts around the area.

Unless your name is Hasheem Thabeet or Ricky Rubio, I would recommend going to Chicago, sport.

If you love power-dykes and girly-men that can't change a car tire, then Portland will be like Disneyland to you, Enjoy.
