Do you know any good places to watch fireworks?

What are the best places to watch fireworks on New Year's in Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR?

My boyfriend and I are looking for an awesome place to watch fireworks, tomorrow night. It doesn't have to be in Vancouver or Portland, either. Any of the surrounding cities are good. We just really have no clue, it's our first New Year's in this area and we need help. Please!

There are no large scale fireworks planned in the area. The nearest would be on Mount Hood. Typically each of the ski areas have some sort of pyrotechnics display: Ski Bowl, Timberline, and Mount Hood Meadows. Only MHM shoots them up into the air. Timberline and Ski Bowl have torch bearers sking down. Also, many people set off fireworks individually. Find a party-happy neighborhood and enjoy other people's fireworks. * * * edit * * * Martin's answer shows something in the real Vancouver, in Canada.
