What are the best areas around High Wycombe to live?

What are Eugene Oregon's best areas to live for good air/water quality?

  • I've been spending hours making phone calls and Googling trying to find information on Superfund/toxic areas/where not to live, and haven't found much other than that the west side accounts for 97% of the industrial sites. I need to know where the Superfund sites are, what other toxic areas to stay away from, if there are any areas that have high cancer rates/any research that has found toxic leaks in water, how far away to live from certain toxic areas, etc. Links or personal knowledge would be SO helpful to me. I've tried calling the EPA and looked at the website for the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, and neither have been of much help. Thanks!

  • Answer:

List and map of environmental hazard sites (including Superfund) in Oregon: http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/ehap/sites.shtml Wikipedia page on Oregon Superfund sites: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Superfund_sites_in_Oregon DEQ page on Superfund: http://www.deq.state.or.us/lq/cu/response/superfund.htm As you can see from the first link, there are no Superfund sites in Eugene, although there are a couple of potential hazard sites; the UP railyard, the JH Baxter creosote plant, and the NW Eugene industrial area. I think if you stay away from those areas, you should be okay. Oregon doesn't have a lot of problems in the environmental contamination area anymore.
