What is the best preschool in Yuma?

Can anyone please tell me where the best parts of Yuma Arizona can be located?

  • WILL BE JOB RELOCATING TO YUMA ARIZONA AND WILL BE THERE FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS. I HAVE 2 KIDS AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE THE BEST COMMUNITEIS ARE LOCATED? (SCHOOLS,MALLS,CHURCHES ETC.)

    Yuma does not have any seriously bad neighborhoods as you see in the Cities. The older parts of town being less expensive do attract the lower income families. There is some gang activity in Yuma but it does not approach the level seen in the cities. As far as malls are concerned, the Yuma Palms area is the most centralized shopping area, but there is not much housing nearby. The Southgate Mall area has more housing nearby but fewer high profile stores. Public Transportation in Yuma is just plain bad so if you do not have a car, it is difficult to get around. The schools in the area range from poor to fair although the Crane school district seems somewhat better than the alternatives. A significant amount of the school budgets is earmarked for ESL programs, leaving the other kids with the leftovers. If you can afford it, there are several private schools that provide a better learning environment. Yuma has many churches and places of worship, so there should be no problem finding a match for your particular denomination.

Anything off the freeway is the old part of Yuma and you want to stay away from there. I like the Rancho Sereno area a lot. It's close to down town. The foot hills area if you want be away from the traffic congestion. There's a lot of new developement south of Ave C.

The best place to look would be to look at the town's website. Its a small place, nothing like Phoenix.. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I live in Phoenix and we don't think about Yuma much at all here.
