What are the 3 bus yards in the MARTA system?

Safe place in phoenix with the bus system?

  • im thinking of moving to phoenix in a year. i was told the west side doesnt really have a good bus system, and that you should stay out of the south side. i will be dependent on the bus system. my price range is that of a college student (not much) where is a safe neighboorhood with a good bus system? is the bus system reliable, as i will need to go to community college and a job? will you please give a few options? northern central side, east side, things like that as i am looking on rent.com and places like that.

  • Answer:

Mesa or Tempe would be your best bet with having to ride the bus because every thing is close by and the bus only costs $1.25 to ride.

That depends on which community college in the area you are attending, there are roughly 10 you could attend, and all of them are directly on at least 1 bus line. Let us know which college and we can help answer better.

Valley Metro isn't terribly reliable. There are quite a few express buses and the Red Line isn't that bad though. Check out the maps: http://www.valleymetro.org/bus/system%5Fmap/ Tempe also has its Orbit shuttle system, which is going to be expanded soon. It makes smaller neighborhood around the city much more accessible. And ASU has its own shuttle system, including inter-campus routes that go between the main, Tempe campus, the Downtown campus and ASU West in the north central part of the city. The light rail is opening at the end of the year (theoretically), and you may want to look at getting close to it, because it's going to be your best option without a car. North Central (Metro Center) area isn't a very good area, but it will be cheaper than living in the East Valley, especially the areas of Tempe that you can live in reasonably well without a car. It depends on where your job and school are. Move closer to those.

Try Glendale. And there is a community college there.
