Is moving from Phoenix to Philly a good idea?

My roommate and I are moving to Phoenix in the summer and have know idea where to live.?

  • We are 23 years old and love city living. She is going to go to Argosy University and I plan to work and go to the International Dermal Institute in Scottsdale. Scottsdale sounds nice to live in but maybe a little to old of a croud and high living cost. Any suggestions would be great.

  • Answer:

Brutal summers, perhaps. But you just stay where the A/C is - it's not difficult! Plus 330 days of sunshine per year, no snow, only 6-8 weeks of winter! Does Connecticut have that?! Didn't think so! Phoenix is great! If you are on a budget, I would suggest North Central Phoenix or South Scottsdale. North Scottsdale is very clean & safe, but expensive, though I think you probably can find some affordable apartments there, too. I would stay away from the Glendale area or anything West or South - there is more crime in these areas, and they are far from Scottsdale. Mesa is reasonable, too.

You don't mention where you are moving from.... but may I suggest somewhere that the air-conditioning will not fail you? Brutal summers there in AZ.
