How much would I need down to buy a house in Arizona?

  • Hi I am moving down to Arizona. I have brought my credit score way up to 640- 660 area. I have about 5k possible down and triing to get payments around 300-500 pst. through hud homes. I have not pre qualifed yet, but since the market is fairly low in Arizona I would think it would be easy to get in. I also have no major credit issues, first time home buyer with strong rental and utlit. history. and references. I was just curious on what someone out there would think I would need as a deposit say the house was around 55,000 to 80,000 thanks.

    My friend owns 20 houses in Buckeye and Goodyear. He will sell any of them for 20% down and he will carry the note. A nice house of $150,000 will require $30,000 down. If your house is only going to cost 55-80K it will not really be in a nice area. Maybe in Maryvale you could find these numbers, but don't open your door at night either.
