Suggestions for a person going to Philadelphia and staying at the Sheraton Society Hill? ?

I am traveling to Philadelphia later this month for a conference and will be staying in Sheraton Society Hill, can anyone tell me about some good places to visit/eat? Any good malls to shop at nearby? Preferably walking distance....but anything close-by would be great!

South Street is several blocks away .The Area from Front to 10th street as many restaurants and little stores also great for people watching. Stop in at Jim's steaks on 4th and get a Cheesesteak with. Hot and Greasy its basically a heart attack on a bun. Yummy.

great hotel and you are right at Penn's landing. Not sure if it is still there but there was a real good blues club called warm daddys. Not sure you would walk to any plce from the hotel but there will be a lot of things a short cab ride away.
