Answer:
I live in Philadelphia. Independence National Historical Park, Independence Hall and Philadelphia Museum of Art, you need to visit. They are famous and the landmarks of Philadephia. But still a question, you will go there alone, or with someone. Because you refered you never been the city before. I'm afraid you will spend a lot of time finding the locations. Notice: Take a map, or else you can take a tour if possible.

Philly sucks as a vacation site...last time I was there we had a car stolen out of the hotel parking lot, the hotel was robbed at gun point, and the cops acted like it was our fault the car was stolen-why did you bring a car to Philly, are you nuts? Also, there was a shooting across the street from the hotel-great place to be from, I was happy to leave, thanks to Hertz, they got us a new car in 4 hours...and good for me, I bought full coverage insurance-good thing, the new car got sideswiped in valet parking in DC, Hertz took a dim view of renting to me for several years...take a bullet proof vest, and do not carry any money or credit cards you do not want stolen.

mikey is either completely lying or extremely exaggerating. I live in Philly and it can be bad but not that bad at all. Go to Geno's Steaks if one want the best cheesesteak in town. Also go to the Franklin Institute and definitely the Art Museum.
