I grew up in Philadelphia, but now live in Newark, DE and used to commute to Philly to work. Take the R2 train from Wilmington to Philadelphia (It leaves from the central train station in Wilmington and is run by SEPTA). Get off at the Suburban Station which is in Central Philadelphia at 16th and JFK boulevard. Walk to 17th and JFK and board the number 38 bus. This will take you to Mantua and 34th. From there you will walk to Girard and 34th which is where the Philadelphia Zoo is located. For more on these directions, or to find other directions, visit septa.com to plan your trip, see prices of fares, or other ways of getting to your destination. Hope this helps.
