Where is the best area to stay in Philadelphia?

Area near North Philadelphia SEPTA?

  • What is the area around the SEPTA transit centre at North Philadelphia stop on the Broad Line like? Is it a safe neighbourhood? Might be using this area during a stay in the city, and wondering from those that are familiar with the area or from the city could tell me what it is like. Thank you for your assistance, it is greatly appreciated.

  • Answer:

I'm a Philly native..I love my city..however, I would not suggest you staying near the North Philadelphia station during your visit. Not a great place to be at night at all, especially if you plan on taking the train. It's not"getting robbed during the daytime" bad, but its also not "walk your dog around the block" good either. I suggest you stay somewhere closer to Center City. Perhaps Northern Liberties which is(North to Girard Avenue, South to Spring Garden Street, East to Delaware River, West to 6th Street) or the Fairmount area(North to Girard Avenue, South to Vine Street, East to Broad Street, West to Schuylkill River)

I have always lived in the Northeast and felt safe there. There are good neighborhoods there especially near Busleton Ave. I have recently seen a higher patrol of police too, which is good.
