    If you are coming on a weekend night, try priceline for a hotel room - set the price you want to pay and see if anything pops up. You can stay in South Philly and be close to the Wachovia Center, but I would stay in Center City and simply take the Broad Street subway to the game. Then you have the option of taking a tour of the old city. These are fun - they have horse drawn carriages around Independence Hall and the drivers are very knowledgable about the city and the history. These are nice for couples or families, but if you are coming with some buddies, they would not be the best.
