    It's going to be an hour no matter what. From South Philly, it's Atlantic City (LBI might be shorter in distance but it's mostly 2 lane highway through the Pine Barrens. Take Whitman to 42S to Atlantic City Expwy. From the Northeast, it's Belmar. Drive up to Trenton and then it's 35 minutes across I-195.

Several points on the South Jersey shore are about an hour from Philly - Atlantic City, Belmar, Ventnor, Margate, Ocean City....Places like Avalon, Wildwood, and Cape May are a little father south.
