What are some great things to see and do in Philadelphia?

What is there to do in Philadelphia?

  • I'm planning on going to Philadelphia in March and I've looked at several lists of what to visit while there. I want to see things that are interesting and worth my time but I'm not so fond of tourists traps. Any suggestions? Both day and night attractions would be great!

    I live in Philadelphia and I absolutely love it. I am fairly new to this state so in the past year I have been almost everywhere. There are plenty of things to do that are interesting and inexpensive. There are suprisingly lots of things for free. Most places have free things that are boring that no one would ever go to. Not Philly..they have free things that tons of people go to. I would stay away from any guided tours, they are all things that you can do on your own for free. Most of the time you can walk around center city for the whole day and go to a museum,shop,eat and sightsee. They have a great nightlife. Amazing restaurants. Really just so much stuff to do. That paper has everything from art shows to museums to restaurants, bar information, live music info, whats going on at all the clubs that week. It tells you exactly what kind of music is played at each venue (if that is your sort of thing). It has everything possible that you can think of to do in a week. Go to South Street and walk around!!! The best part of South Street starts at like maybe 8th St and goes down to the river, it's so much fun, plus you can get great cheesesteaks there! And Condom Kingdom is there, best store ever lol.
